Are you ready for the ‘New Normal’?

If someone would have told me last year that 2020 would be a difficult year compared to 2019, I would have laughed. But here we are, sitting at home and living our lives indoors. As a Mumbaikar, living indoors is very difficult.
Mumbai is fast. People move fast; the city which never stops working.
Let me introduce myself!
Hi! This is Mahika - A mumbaikar with a mild coffee addiction and poor sleep cycle;).
Since few months our world has changed in such a way that we could not have possibly imagined. A few days ago, I came across a term; “the new normal” and I thought to myself what does this mean?
After a reality check I found out that this term is used for the things or situations that are going to happen from now. Imagine you woke up on a humid Monday morning and you are late and that you’ll have ample traffic on your way to office. Then you realize; that you are working from home! you will wear a formal shirt for the zoom or google meetings even though you are wearing your pajamas down ;) The new era of virtual intelligence where people are going to be more dependent on gadgets.
If you want to watch a movie you’ll have to say goodbye to Bookmyshow and say hello to Netflix, Amazon, Hotstar and so onn.
To all my shopholics, spending 2 hours in one store will be now scrolling for ample hours at home after you decide that you don’t want anything.
And to all my love birds out there, that weekend road trip or that date night will have to wait for sometime.
To all my rising educated millenials, zoom and google is going to be the thing that we will have to stare for sometime.
All I am saying is that I know change is hard and it can’t be easy. We will make it through. We can be safe and we’ll survive.
This is a disease which has taken a lot of lives, don’t let it take you away from your loved ones.
Stay tuned for my next blog!
